Muskotia Retreat Project presented a unique and exciting opportunity for BC Web Wise to demonstrate its creative capabilities. A client invite to the Creative Director and Strategist to visit the beautiful Kilbury forest gave impetus to the project from the very beginning. This allowed the team to take back a candid image of Muskotia and eventually bring to life the same experience online.
The dream-like watercolour treatment adopted for the website design along with detailed content about the project, brings to the user the freshness of nature at Muskotia, at just a click away.
Butterfly Conservation in the near vicinity of Muskotia Retreat by Peter Smatachek
Peter Smetacek lives and works in Bhimtal, Uttarakhand, where he runs the Butterfly
Research Centre. He is a recognized determiner for the Lepidoptera (scientific name
for Butterfly) and an authority on several groups of butterflies and moths. His
pioneering work on the use of insects as bio-indicators of forest ecosystems has
received recognition.
The present effort to establish a butterfly garden in the near vicinity (this is not part of the Muskotia Retreat site) is intended to cater not only to the resident butterfly population, but to the migrants as well. The attempt is to establish a self-regenerating ecosystem of butterfly attractants in the open, so that butterflies will find something there throughout the year. A combination of larval host plants not present in the area and adult attractants is intended to fulfill this objective. Most of the plants being introduced by Peter are indigenous to the Himalaya and some are exotic.
